Maria Napoli, Principal Investigator, is Assistant Professor in Linguistics at the University of Eastern Piedmont. She is the project supervisor and coordinates the work of the whole team. In particular, she oversees the linguistic analysis of contact phenomena.
Luigi Battezzato is Associate Professor of Greek Literature at the University of Eastern Piedmont. Thanks to his deep knowledge of Greek language and literature, since the early stages of the project he has actively participated in the analysis of the types and functions of bilingual phenomena found in our corpus.
Fabio Ciotti is an Assistant Professor at the University of Roma Tor Vergata, where he teaches Digital Literary Studies and Theory of Literature. His research work covers various aspects and themes of Digital Humanities and Literary Studies. He is involved in the creation of a specific TEI language for bilingualism.
James Clackson is Full Professor of Comparative Philology at the University of Cambridge. With his expertise in the historical sociolinguistics of Greek and Latin and, in particular, in ancient bilingualism, he will play an important role in the investigation of the linguistic material in the final stages of the project.
Pierluigi Cuzzolin is Full Professor of General and Historical Linguistics at the University of Bergamo. Given his expertise in Latin linguistics and historical sociolinguistics, his contribution will be of vital importance to the attempt to provide a comprehensive account of Latin bilingualism.
Chiara Fedriani is a Post-doctoral Researcher in Linguistics at the University of Eastern Piedmont. She identifies contact phenomena in selected literary texts and annotates them using xml. She is also involved in the analysis of bilingual data from a linguistic perspective.
Maurizio Lana is an Assistant Professor at the University of Eastern Piedmont. He is an expert in Digital Humanities and co-director of the digilibLT Project (Digital library of Late-Latin Texts). His innovative approach to Digital Humanities is fundamental to the creation of a specific TEI language for bilingualism.
David Paniagua is “Juan de la Cierva” Research Fellow in Latin Language and Literature at the Department of Classics of the University of Salamanca. His role in the project mainly concerns the evaluation of the literary aspects of the use of Greek in Late Latin.
Bruno Rochette is Professor of Classics at the University of Liège. His research focuses primarily on Graeco-Latin bilingualism from a diachronic perspective. He will participate in the survey and assessment of linguistic material in the final stages of the project.
Nadia Rosso is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Greek Literature at the University of Eastern Piedmont. She collaborates in the creation of the corpus of Latin texts and of the TEI language for bilingualism. She analyzes and annotates contact phenomena in selected texts using xml.
Raffaella Tabacco is Full Professor of Latin Literature at the University of Eastern Piedmont. Since 2010 she has been Principal Investigator of the digilibLT Project (Digital Library of Late-Latin Texts). Given her expertise in both Classical and Late Latin, she has a leading role in selecting Latin texts to be included in the corpus and in discussing the data from a linguistic and a literary point of view.
Giusto Traina is Full Professor of Roman History at the University of Paris-Sorbonne (Paris 4). He will participate in the final stages of the project as an expert in Roman History.
